Job Title: Trade Transaction Services – Team Leader

As a Team Leader – Trade Transaction Services, you will support the manager in overseeing the team’s day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality outputs and timely delivery of trade processes. This role covers a wide range of asset classes including equities, fixed income, repos, unit trusts, FX, leveraged loans, and money market instruments. You will manage the full trade lifecycle and proactively resolve trade-related issues, contributing to risk management, process improvement, and team development.
Key Responsibilities Operational OversightSupervise specific trade processes and team members to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
Oversee trade transactions across asset classes: equity, fixed income, repo, unit trusts, FX, leveraged loans, and money markets.
Proactively resolve trade-related issues including overdrafts, interest claims, CSDR charges, and reconciliation breaks.
Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead and motivate the team to meet operational goals in a positive and productive environment.
Provide feedback, performance appraisals, and training to team members.
Support the development of specialized product knowledge and contribute to wider departmental projects.
Stakeholder & Service Provider ManagementMaintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Act as the escalation point for complex or sensitive issues.
Ensure seamless issue resolution by coordinating with different departments and external parties.
Risk Management & Continuous ImprovementIdentify and mitigate risks across trade operations and ensure compliance with control standards.
Evaluate and challenge existing processes for potential improvements.
Leverage team insights and management information (MI) to implement time-saving and quality-enhancing initiatives.
Communication & ReportingRepresent the team in meetings and ensure clear information flow.
Provide timely updates on issues and regularly report KPIs and challenges to the Trade Manager.
Mandatory SkillsMinimum 6 years’ experience in trade confirmation/settlement operations.
Strong knowledge of multiple asset classes (equities, fixed income, repos, FX, etc.).
Expertise in trade lifecycle management and familiarity with platforms such as Aladdin, CTM, and CLS.
Proficient in SWIFT messaging for trade processing.
Solid risk awareness and operational control understanding.
Strong team leadership and stakeholder management experience.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
Good-to-Have SkillsCertifications: IOC, CFA Institute Investment Foundations, or similar.
Familiarity with CSDR regulations and ISITC standards.
Experience in global custody or asset management operations.
