Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Batch Scheduling Specialist with strong expertise in TSO, CA-11, CA-7, and BMC products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing batch job scheduling, automation, and optimization using enterprise-level tools on the z/OS platform. This role involves job scheduling, JCL validation, scripting, and support for batch operations across large-scale environments.

Primary Skill Set: TSO (Time Sharing Option) CA-11 (Restart and Tracking System) CA-7 (Job Scheduler) BMC Products, especially BMC Control-M Scheduler Key Responsibilities: Configure, manage, and optimize batch schedules using CA-7, CA-11, and BMC Control-M. Write and maintain REXX scripts and JCL for job scheduling automation and conversion. Perform JCL conversion, validation, and migration tasks as per business or infrastructure changes. Use z/OS utilities (e.g., SORT, COPY, IEBGENER) for batch data manipulation and processing. Implement and maintain job restarts, dependencies, and scheduling artifacts. Troubleshoot job failures, conduct root cause analysis, and apply preventive measures. Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to integrate job flows with business applications. Maintain clear and accurate documentation for job streams, standards, and support processes. Optionally use tools like JCLPREP and Changeman for validation and version control. Desired Experience and Knowledge: 5+ years of hands-on experience with mainframe batch scheduling and JCL development. Strong scripting ability for automated job conversion and validation. Familiarity with batch flow design, scheduling triggers, and job dependencies. Exposure to Agile or DevOps environments is a plus. Experience in production support and incident handling in high-availability environments
