Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Release Control Engineer to lead our release management processes. The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of relevant experience and will be responsible for coordinating software releases, managing deployment pipelines, and ensuring adherence to compliance and governance standards. The role demands strong technical proficiency in SQL Server, .NET Framework, and release automation tools.

Key Responsibilities Release Management & Control

Plan, coordinate, and execute software releases across development, QA, and production environments.

Ensure structured release processes to minimize risk and downtime.

Track and document release activities, ensuring full compliance with internal and industry standards.

Maintain and communicate detailed release schedules.

Build & Configuration Management

Manage build and deployment processes for .NET applications.

Ensure configuration consistency across environments.

Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams for smooth release integration.

Governance & Compliance

Enforce release governance, audit trails, and approval workflows.

Conduct risk assessments and manage release rollback strategies.

Implement best practices for security and compliance in release processes.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

Collaborate with Development, QA, and Operations teams to streamline release workflows.

Troubleshoot and resolve release issues efficiently.

Continuously improve and automate release procedures.

Maintain comprehensive documentation of release processes and lessons learned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

5–8 years in Software Release Management, Build & Release Control, Change and Configuration Management.

Previous experience leading a Release Control team or working in L1/L2 Application or Production Support.

Strong knowledge of SQL queries and SQL Server for release tasks.

Deep understanding of the SDLC and various release methodologies.

Proficiency in version control systems like Git, TFS, Jenkins, Azure DevOps.

Hands-on experience with .NET Framework.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills for cross-functional team collaboration.

Availability to work UK shifts and provide on-call support.

Desirable Skills

Familiarity with ServiceNow and Octopus Deploy.

Experience with CI/CD tools for automated releases.

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).

Knowledge of build automation tools.
