Job Title: Senior DBA Developer
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA with a strong focus on T-SQL
development, PowerShell scripting, and preferably Python, to join our dynamic team.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about automation, performance tuning, and
driving innovation in database operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage MS SQL Server environments with 7+ years of experience as a
production DBA.
• Expertise in T-SQL development, with a strong track record of writing, optimizing,
and maintaining complex queries and procedures.
• Hands-on experience in scripting with PowerShell (mandatory) and Python
(preferred) to automate administrative tasks and reduce manual interventions.
• Proactively monitor SQL Server performance and implement tuning strategies.
• Implement and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR)
solutions.
• Contribute to Azure cloud migration initiatives and hybrid environment strategies.
• Support and troubleshoot database replication using native SQL Server methods
and third-party tools (e.g., Fivetran, Qlik).
• Continuously identify opportunities for automation and process improvements,
particularly from a DBA efficiency standpoint.
• Share knowledge with team members and participate in ongoing training and
learning initiatives.
• Lead or contribute to database migrations and upgrades.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Minimum 7 years of production DBA experience.
• At least 5 years of hands-on T-SQL development experience.
• PowerShell scripting experience is required; Python scripting is highly
desirable.
• Strong understanding of SQL Server performance tuning and monitoring
techniques.
• Experience in cloud migrations, especially with Microsoft Azure (AWS is a plus).
• Proven ability to handle HA/DR setups in enterprise environments.
• Experience with SQL Server replication in multi-server/datacenter environments.
• Participation in On-Call support rotations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, source control (TFS, GIT), and DevOps practices.
• Hands-on with SSRS development, SSDT, and working with ETL pipelines (Azure
Data Factory, SSIS).
• Understanding of data governance including access control, encryption, and
masking.
Preferred / Nice to Have:
• Experience with Databricks, NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cosmos DB,
CouchDB), or Graph databases (Neo4j).
• Exposure to Microsoft Purview or other data cataloging tools.
