We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy R&D Engineering Software Analyst to support the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of engineering and R&D software applications. This role bridges the gap between technical teams, IT, and software vendors to ensure that engineering tools are aligned with business needs, fully utilized, and effectively supported.
Key Responsibilities A. Application Evaluation & Requirements AlignmentCollaborate with engineering and R&D teams to assess software needs (e.g., CAD, CAE, modeling, simulation).
Evaluate proposed tools to ensure they complement the existing application landscape and fill capability gaps.
Support comparative assessments and tool shortlisting based on functional and technical fit.
B. Installation, Administration & Utilization OptimizationCoordinate with IT for the installation and initial configuration of selected tools.
Perform basic administration tasks, such as license activation, configuration checks, and user provisioning.
Monitor software usage to identify underused tools or features; recommend optimizations.
Prepare utilization reports to inform future planning and purchasing decisions.
C. Vendor Engagement & CoordinationWork closely with software vendors to:
Collect technical documentation and product information.
Schedule and coordinate demos, trial access, and PoCs.
Clarify licensing models, deployment options, and support plans.
Escalate and help resolve issues during tool evaluations.
Track vendor interactions and follow up on agreed deliverables.
D. Stakeholder Coordination & SupportAct as the liaison between internal stakeholders (Engineering, R&D, IT) and external vendors.
Collect and document user feedback and share actionable insights with decision-makers.
Track evaluation progress and risks using basic tools (e.g., Excel, project trackers).
Support documentation needs, including meeting notes, status updates, and action logs.
Desired QualificationsExperience in evaluating and onboarding engineering or R&D applications.
Familiarity with CAD, CAE, modeling, and simulation tools.
Basic IT knowledge for software setup, license management, and troubleshooting.
