Job Overview:
With the assistance of the Manager of Plant Operations, the Lead HVAC Technician’s responsibility includes overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. This role often involves complex troubleshooting, system upgrades, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.

High School Diploma or EquivalentFormal training equivalent to a related program in an accredited vocational school1-3 years’ experience directly related to the heating, ventilation and air conditioning fieldCertifications and Licenses Required:
Valid New Jersey Driver’s LicenseValid HVAC certification EPA 6-8 Universal CFCBlue Seal Refrigeration license preferredScheduling Requirement:
7:00am-3:30pmMonday-Friday with occasional weekend and holiday shiftsFull TimeEssential Functions:
Assists with large, major repairs and overhaul workAttends meetings, conferences, workshops and seminarsChecks steam system for proper pressures and makes the necessary repairs to steam regulators, steam traps, piping and controlsChecks, adjusts and balances air handler systems to insure proper flow and temperaturesCleans and/or replaces air handling filters on a scheduled basisInspects, checks and maintains daily all heating and air conditioning systems to operate in an energy efficient mannerInspects, repairs and balances bearings, shafts and pulleys on fans, pumps and motorsMaintains building temperatures at prescribed levels by operating and utilizing the Graphic Central and Delta 1000 computer energy management systemMaintains proper water treatment conditions for cooling towers and reheat systems by chemical analysisPaints related equipment and surrounding areasPerforms all other duties as job flexibility is prescribedPerforms preventative maintenance inspections on all heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, medical gas systems and associated equipmentPerforms scheduled and unscheduled lubrication of moving parts on all equipmentSnow removal duties as conditions dictateWinterizes and properly protects air conditioning systems from freezingBenefits and Perks:
