Lead HVAC Application Engineer
Job Description

Danfoss Climate Solutions is looking for a talented and experienced Lead HVAC Application Engineer, to join our multicultural team.

 

If you like the challenge of high-complexity HVAC application systems, ranging from Toolchain core features and libraries up to HVAC unit complete application development, if you believe that robustness, performances, flexibility, connectivity and scalability through open standards are the foundations of a modern system, then you will find the right context to express and grow your talent.

 

You will be part of the core team of our new Programmable Controller Platform, contributing to drive our Toolchain evolution and to create a solid and comprehensive library of ready-to-use software modules for our customers and our internal regional development teams.

 

You will also be expected to support our Regional HVAC Application developers, ensuring SW quality, modularity and reusability is consistently following the Danfoss standards.

Job Responsibilities

As a Lead HVAC Application Engineer, you are responsible for specifying, designing, testing and implementing software modules for HVAC applications.

 

Thanks to your strong technical background in thermodynamics, you will participate in the start-up of real HVAC units (in Danfoss or customer’s labs) to troubleshoot and optimize the control SW you have developed.

 

Your main tasks will be to:  

Contribute to all phases of development including requirement capturing, specification development, design, software development and validation/verification of standard software modules and complete applications Contribute to drive our Toolchain evolution, capturing customer needs, developing specifications and cooperating with the Toolchain development team Develop using PLC IEC61131-3 Textual and Graphical Programming languages, occasionally Matlab/Simulink, C/C++ and Python Lead and participate in global cross functional project teams Coordinate and mentor the HVAC Regional Application developers team Design and configure communication protocols such as Modbus, BACNet and CANopen. Take part in machine start-ups at internal labs and customer sites. Background & Skills Educational background in Engineering (Software, Electronic, Automation) or equivalent culture. Proven experience (5+ years) in HVAC Application Software development Fluent in IEC61131 standard languages Deep knowledge of HVAC Thermodynamics Good knowledge of IEC Toolchain architectures and library management Experience with industrial communication protocols on the TCP/IP stack, or automotive/industrial buses like CANbus and Modbus Experience with IoT architectures and communication protocols Knowledge and experience in MBD (Matlab/Simulink) represent a plus Good knowledge of English and Italian languages, written and spoken Ability to communicate both technical and business matters in a clear and concise language Employee Benefits
