Position Purpose
Perform technical and supervisory duties related to the selection, orientation, scheduling, and evaluation of pharmacy technicians. Supports pharmacists in all aspects of pharmacy activities, including: Deliver controlled drugs to refill Pyxis Machines; Prepare and compound neonatal oral liquids, and other extemporaneous products; Package and distribute drugs and sterile products.
What you will do
Perform all duties of a Pharmacy Technician
Select, train, supervise, evaluate, and assist in performance improvement of other Pharmacy Technicians
Maintain Pyxis stock levels by loading and refilling medications including narcotics for all in-patients
Possess considerable knowledge of drug names, medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and different pharmacy work areas and equipment use.
Assist nurses trouble-shooting Pyxis questions and drawer maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program. College course work in business/management and supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
A minimum of two years experience as a pharmacy technician plus one year of supervisory experience. For lead tech focused in Sterile Products must have at least 2 years of IV related experience
Current State Licensure and national PTCB certification (CPhT)
