Lead - Hardware Engineer
Job Requirements
Detailed design of various hardware sub-systems including analog, digital, power & mixed signal circuits.Identify electronics components (both analog & digital) to realize the individual hardware sub-systems.Detailed study of the component datasheets along with the applicable technical design notes released by the component manufacturer to form the circuit schematic.Working with vendors dealing with PCB, sensor, electronic components; for prototyping samples as well as procurement for pilot runs.Compiling & finalizing bill-of-materials (BOM) for various sub-systems.

Work Experience
Ability to grasp the various parameters in the analog / digital component datasheets & evaluate the fitment in the identified sub-systems for the specific intended function.Work with PCB designer to realize the PCB for the various sub-systems. Provide component package details to PCB designer for various components & work together on placement & routing.Follow recommended good practices in PCB / sub-system design to ensure low noise, low emissions, reduced susceptibility to external disturbances, reduced cross-coupling / interference between analog & digital circuit zones & improved signal integrity.Board bring-up for individual sub-systems & system level integrated testing of all sub-systems together.Hands-on experience & well versed with strategies for pre-design & post-design compliance with EMC.Work with software team & mechanical team to build the proof-of-concept (POC) & prototype.

Desired Skills:

Fair understanding of creepage / clearance requirements of IEC 60601-1 and ensuring its right application in the designed PCB, under guidance of the HW Lead Architect.Working knowledge of measurement & testing tools like oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer, power quality analyzer, etc. Hands-on experience on usage of such tools for testing, debugging & board bring-up.Working knowledge of interfacing & signal conditioning of sensors as well as drivers for actuators.Knowledge on component thermal characteristics & derating along with calculations for evaluation and sizing of the heat sink, if needed.Liaison with external labs for EMC & IEC testing & getting the product complied with IEC 60601-1 (Basic safety & Essential performance) & IEC 60601-1-2 (EMI compliance) standards.Support software team in evaluation / validation of the informal & formal builds of software & thus help in speeding-up the software development phase.Working knowledge of various PLM applications for controlled document lifecycle management. Routing of various artifacts like BOM, circuit schematics, PCB gerber, datasheets, etc.Working knowledge of various PCB design software applications.Fair idea about PCB board assembly & soldering process.
