Linde Gases US is currently seeking a motivated andexperiencedLead Field Service Technician. This candidate can be based out of Dallas, Houston, Shreveport, or Texarkana. This position reports to theAssociate Director of Operations or Operations Supervisorand is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of oxygen and nitrogen production plants located on customer sites. This position is responsible for leading and developing individual plant technicians to meet plant performance goals and expectations, which include such categories as safety, preventative predictive maintenance, troubleshooting repair, process operation, site upkeep organization, customer billing, and administrative work. To be successful in this role, an individual must be ambitious, organized, self-driven, and able to achieve goals in a multidisciplined 24/7 production environment; having independent decision-making skills, the ability to develop conceptual solutions to complex operational issues, and effectively communicate troubleshooting assistance to plant technicians is critical. Primary Responsibilities:
Work closely with management, plant technicians, Technical Support Engineers, and the Equipment Reliability Group to achieve operations performance goalsLead and maintain safety, quality, operations, and compliance activities at region plant locationsPerform preventative predictive maintenance activities and calibrations on a variety of industrial plant equipmentTroubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve plant process and operational issuesWith minimal supervision, lead plant technicians to manage site operations to meet contract production specifications, plant onstream reliability goals, and administrative requirementsLead planning and execution of plant maintenance outages/turnaroundsOrganize resources (internal and external to Linde) and coordinate tasks needed to support maintenance work and compliance auditsRead and interpret process instrumentation diagrams and schematic wiring diagramsComplete self-guided training assignments and activities to advance comprehension of the air separation process and the complex responsibilities/expectations of the roleOversee plant maintenance budgets, complete project cost proposals, and complete monthly customer billing activitiesSet the standard for technicians to maintain a safe, clean, and organized facilityTrain and develop new and existing employeesDrive a service truck up to 2 or 3 hours per day and up to 8 hours on occasionApproximately 50% overnight travel for operations support and training purposesWorking Conditions:
In addition to being able to sit, stand, climb, walk, read, talk, see and hear; to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities:
Drive a service pickup truck up to 1 to 2 hours per day and up to 8 hours on occasion.Perform office work requiring sitting at the computer and other administration duties 1 to 3 hours per day.Walking on flat, uneven surfaces, and areas of crushed stone/gravel is done on a daily basis.Bending, stooping, and working from just above the ground to 6-foot elevationUse of stairs and ladders for elevated work. Use of fall protection equipment.Lifting 5 to 15 lbs. loads is performed daily.Lifting 15 to 45 lbs. loads is done on an intermittent basis.Lifting over 45 to 75 lbs. is done occasionally.Upper body work activities, including using wrenches, hammers, and similar toolsUse of power tools/equipment such as drills, grinders, pumps, etc.Use of fingers/fine manipulation (e.g. instrumentation calibration)Normal work week of 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.On call for plant issues during off hours. Paid weekend on call; rotating schedule.
