Job DescriptionThis position is located at a Semiconductor Manufacturing Facility.
Position Purpose:
Responsible for performing a variety of routine hazardous and non-hazardous waste tasks in the movement and processing of various waste in various container size/type. Tasks could include: Follow procedures & direction, perform manual labor, proper usage of PPE, operate mobile equipment (manual and powered), operate fixed / stationary equipment, loading & unloading containers, perform equipment inspections, identification of various container size/type, scanning container movements, consolidation of containers & material, staging containers in designated area, recognize markings & labels. Tasks will be performed on a daily basis in the designated processing area as assigned by Leads & Supervisors in order to meet processing objectives for material disposal.
Primary Duties /Responsibilities:
Manage assigned area while maintaining operation efficiencies.Proficient in all process areas of the department. Has mastered all four components (CSB/ADA, TRB, Bulk Ramp and TSDF) and can work in any area while maintaining operational proficiency.Lead, direct and coordinate all team member activities to achieve team goals.Interface with other Lead Material Handlers to achieve team goalsManage site waste generated in work area.Create maintenance work orders to insure upkeep of equipment.Resolves remedial work orders or other environmental concerns and completes closure requirementsResponds to spills as requiredManage leaking boxes in a timely manner, making temporary repairs as necessary.Provides routine manpower for box storage areas for housekeeping, RCRA, TSCA, and safety related items.Maintain department housekeeping standards and is responsible for the effective upkeep of all tools, equipment, and facilities.Interfaces with contractors and internal departments to obtain information, answer questions, and resolve problems and special requests.Operates forklift, backhoe, rolloff truck, gradall, other heavy equipment and power hand tools.Assists emergency coordinator in emergencies.Prepares numerous logs and reports for tracking purposes.Perform industrial chemical spill cleanup and remediation, including handling of corrosive and solvent materialsConduct industrial cleaning operations inside tanks and confined space environmentsOperate water jetting equipment for line cleaningPerform liquid removal from trenches and sumps using appropriate pumping equipmentExecute chemical transfer operations between containers using specialized chemical pumpsDemonstrate proficiency in proper selection and use of PPE including:Chemical protective suitsFull face respiratorsChemical-resistant glovesChemical-resistant apronsChemical-resistant bootsFace shieldsSafety gogglesMaintain compliance with all safety protocols and procedures when handling hazardous materialsQualificationsEducation / Experience / Background:
High School diploma or GEDMinimum two year hazardous material processing and/or handlingMinimum one year heavy equipment operation preferredKnowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Ability to communicate through reading and writingTrained in the use of material handling equipmentWork in loud, cold, hot, wet and dry environments.Required Certification / Licenses / Training:
