Lead Engineer - IP & Technology Intelligence (Materials/ Metallurgy)
**What you’ll do:** The incumbent is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing IP and technology intelligence practices across Eaton Research Labs portfolio. She / He is expected to provide leadership on technical/competitive intelligence and contributing to IP differentiation and positioning for various programs in the organization. "• Serve as an expert on IP Analytics and Technology Intelligence. She / He is expected to share reports / insights within the organization on trends and highlight whitespace for solution development. • Drive actionable IP & technology intelligence for key strategic themes for Eaton's Research Labs and deliver impactful recommendations to senior leadership including global technology directors, business leaders. • Provide mentorship to the team in terms of guidance and coaching for improving work products, quality and efficiency of deliverables, create force multipliers for competencies • Lead team level & enterprise level initiatives which will help to build capabilities for the organization. • Contribute to developing IP differentiation by conducting patent searches (patentability, landscape, freedom-to-operate e.t.c.) • Collaborating with IP Counsel and engineering in creating robust IP Portfolio aligned to product line/ technology roadmaps • Collaborate with global R&D and Innovation teams to identify opportunities of engagement and improve innovation effectiveness. • Have in depth knowledge of the aligned business division programs, goals and strategies and develop constructive IP solutions aligning to business needs and strategy and working closely with the IP Counsel. • Demonstrate ability to analyze large amount of data, connect multiple data sources and generate actionable insights for progression of the technology and IP creation. • Create new work packages, coordinating from concept to implementation stage, managing deliverables executed by multi-disciplinary teams. • Understand mega-trends and proactively identify and communicate relevant disruptive trends that enable timely informed decision making. • Possess ability to influence and drive people / activities on complex technical issues. • Possess strong report/technical writing and presentation skills. She / he should be a good communicator and should be able to drive results working in multi-disciplinary teams. • She/ he should is expected to be well versed in Materials Science/ Metallurgy or Polymers domain and their application in electrical & industrial sectors. Prior experience in Technology Intelligence, Innovation Management will be an added advantage." **Qualifications:** Masters / Bachelors 10 **Skills:** Material Science, Metallurgy, Polymers with experience in Intellectual Property and Technology / Competitive intelligence Effective Communicator, Collaborative orientation, Strategic Agility, Drive for results, Problem Solving
