Lead Engineer - Configuration Management

In this role, the Lead Engineer - Configuration Management will lead the HW and SW configuration management of some of the most complex and technically challenging projects within the business while providing guidance to your best-in-industry peers and team members. **How will you make a difference?** As a member of the LOCOTROL team, you will be responsible for providing support for configuration management on programs ranging from 4 weeks to 2 years. The successful applicant will work closely with engineering and leadership to ensure that configuration management is aligned with business priorities and strategies. This role will be a member of a team empowered to voice and drive positive change. **What do we want to know about you?** + Bachelors or Associates Degree from an accredited college or university + Minimum of 8 years of experience in Configuration Management of Software and Hardware + Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment. + Experience with product lifecycle management and source code management tools + Prior project execution experience with large-scale software projects and the ability to lead and motivate high potential teams + Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally. **What will your typical day look like?** + Host and drive Change Control Boards (CCBs) for the Hardware, Systems, Software, and Validation engineering teams + Provide software build guidance and execution to ensure a quality product + Work with the team to identify, design and implement process improvements that advance quality and efficiency. + Work cross-functionally to ensure continuity, consistency and CTQ’s are met. + Be flexible to accommodate evolving and shifting release plans and priorities + Assist in the deployment and monitoring of the product. + Ensure that delivered products achieve highest quality and performance levels. + Be able to think critically and creatively to develop solutions that enable the best outcomes for the business. + Develop metrics and scorecards to measure key performance indicators (KPIs). Analyze and drive improvements. + Be a leading voice for continuous improvement and growth in the business + Foster a culture of inclusion and positivity by communicating effectively **Desired Characteristics** + Experience with Agile PLM and IBM CLM + Experience with GIT or SVN + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment. + Locomotive Systems Design Experience is a plus. + Railroad Industry Experience is a plus + Self-starter with the ability to lead with minimum supervision. + Strong oral and written communication skills. + Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. The salary range for this role is between $77,400.00-$110,300.00 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
