Lead Engineer - Automation & Controls
Eaton’s GEIS division is currently seeking a Lead Engineer - Automation & Controls. The expected annual salary range for this role is $93750.03 - $137500.04 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. **What you’ll do:** As a key member of the GEIS B-Line Manufacturing Engineering Team, the Sr. Automation & Controls Engineer is responsible for complete electrical, controls, software and troubleshooting support on manufacturing equipment and/or control systems across GEIS B-Line division. The Sr. Automation & Controls Engineer will also provide necessary technical support to assist maintenance & engineering teams on troubleshooting and repair on the following systems: PLC’s, HMI’s VFD’s, Motors (DC, AC, Servo, etc.), Vision systems and Robotics to promote equipment reliability and uptime. It’s where you can reach your full potential—and where you can help us reach ours. **Essential Functions:** + Basic knowledge and ability in designing automation architecture, PLC programming and electrical schematics using CAD software. + Develop strategic plans to identify and address current and future challenges for manufacturing equipment, control systems and maintenance processes. + Participate in and help execute Manufacturing improvement strategies around I4.0 Automation and Ignition Spark OEE + Assist in the specification and design approvals for electrical control design, component selection and programming on new CapEx related equipment. + Provide support for EHS procedures and training, to drive a Zero Incident Culture across the plant. Serve as a MESH Category Champion, as assigned. **Qualifications:** **Basic Qualifications:** • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering • Minimum 3 years of experience in an Automation and/or Controls Engineering role. • Technical expertise with PLC’s and/or Robotics • Ability to work in the US without sponsorship. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Highland, IL will be considered. Active-duty military members are exempt from this geographical area limitation. **Preferred Qualifications:** • Allen Bradley PLC Certification • Fanuc Robot Programming Certification **Position Criteria:** • Strong interpersonal skills used for the review, motivation, and development of mfg engineering and maintenance team in addition to building relationships with internal customers and external vendors • Demonstrated ability to leverage cross-functional resources to support departmental requirements. • Assure timely implementation of capital plans and operating plans.
