Lead Engineer – Electrical Design

**Key Responsibilities**
**Electrical System Design & Integration**
+ Interpret project specifications and tender requirements to design and develop low/medium-voltage electrical systems, including MCCs, control panels, switchgear, and power distribution.
+ Apply domain knowledge of STP, clarifiers, ozone systems, UV disinfection, pumping stations, aeration blowers, sludge handling, and chemical dosing systems.
+ Ensure electrical layouts and component selection are optimized for safety, maintainability, cost-effectiveness, and performance in wastewater environments.
**Project Execution & Documentation**
+ Lead NPD and order engineering projects independently, from proposal/concept through commissioning.
+ Prepare and review electrical deliverables: schematics, SLDs, GA drawings, cable tray layouts, cable schedules, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, BOMs, load and heat calculations, loop drawings, and termination documents.
+ Estimate execution time and costs for proposals, ensuring on-time delivery of quality outputs.
+ Support localization of global products to meet regional standards and compliance.
+ Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, risk assessments, and DFMEA activities.
+ Oversee panel/MCC testing and validation against design requirements and safety standards.
+ Prepare submittals, technical reports, and design justifications for internal and external stakeholders.
**Mentoring & Collaboration**
+ Mentor and guide junior engineers in electrical design best practices, testing, and documentation standards.
+ Collaborate with project managers, product managers, and mechanical engineers across all project phases.
+ Work and coordinate closely with global/local teams, customers, and vendors to ensure alignment.
+ Handle stakeholder communications, coordinate with international teams, and participate in global meetings, articulating technical concepts in English.
**Global Exposure**
+ Be open to short-term and long-term travel, locally and internationally, for project execution, customer/vendor meetings, factory testing, on-site installation, and commissioning support.
**Skills & Qualifications**
**Must-Have**
+ Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
+ 10–14 years of experience in electrical design for the wastewater treatment industry.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
+ Strong knowledge of control panel and MCC design for Rockwell and Siemens systems, including UL/CE component and enclosure selection.
+ Expertise in power distribution, MCC design, electrical protection, and switchgear selection.
+ Proven experience in load calculations (transformers, generator, busbars, protective devices, cables).
+ Knowledge of instrumentation and sensor wiring, including signal cabling, power supply integration, and interface with control systems.
+ Experience in cable schedules, loop drawings, termination documents, panel testing, and heat load calculations.
+ Solid understanding of UL, CE, IEC, NFPA, NEC, and NEMA standards.
+ OEM experience, including factory acceptance testing (FAT), equipment validation, and integration of third-party systems.
+ On-site electrical installation, testing, and commissioning experience, including troubleshooting and system integration.
+ Proven ability to handle projects independently, take ownership, and meet deadlines.
+ Strong English communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
+ Proficiency with MS Office tools.
**Nice to Have**
+ Experience with E-Plan.
+ Experience in product localization for regional compliance.
+ Knowledge of backup power systems (generators, ATS, UPS) for wastewater facilities.
+ Understanding of earthing, lightning protection, and corrosion protection.
+ Awareness of power quality and harmonics management in heavy motor load environments.
+ Experience in transformer integration for ozone generators.
+ Experience in integrating pre-designed ballast cards for UV systems, considering ventilation and thermal management.
+ Prior experience in EPC projects and mentoring junior engineers.
+ Ability to bring innovative ideas to the team and improve existing design practices.
