LOCATION: 1000 Remington Blvd., Suite 120, Bolingbrook, IL 60440 TITLE: Lead Digital Innovation Engineer HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm DUTIES: Innovation Leadership and Software Development: Spearhead the design, development, testing, and documentation of advanced applications and systems, driving innovation through each phase of the project lifecycle. Define and uphold high standards in programming tools and techniques, including security guidelines. Collaborate with other architects and innovation partners to ensure best practices in software development are applied, tailoring solutions to integrate cutting-edge technologies from startups and other external partners. Backend Service Platforms: Lead the architecture and implementation of robust service platforms that are capable of handling large-scale, concurrent requests across diverse data types including structured, unstructured, and semi-structured. Ensure these platforms are scalable and can seamlessly integrate emerging technologies and innovations. Application and Systems Integration: Oversee the prompt investigation and resolution of complex issues across all integration points between our core innovation capabilities and both internal and external applications and systems. Ensure seamless data flow and functionality between enterprise and innovation systems, enhancing system-wide integration. Systems Engineering and Data Integration: Direct the development of comprehensive frameworks and patterns that facilitate efficient data integration and communication between the enterprise and innovation systems. Ensure that these frameworks support the continuous evolution of our technological capabilities. Platform Development and Integration: Lead the integration efforts to embed AI, computer vision, and advanced digital experiences into our platforms. Leverage best-in-class software engineering practices to build a cohesive and scalable platform that supports the deployment of new technologies and partner innovations. Innovation and Emerging Technology Exploration: Participate and enhance our innovation architecture pipeline by continuously monitoring and integrating new methods, trends, capabilities, and technologies. Evaluate and prototype new technologies to drive the creation of novel experiences and capabilities within the organization. REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related. Three (3) years of experience in a technical engineering role with a proven track record of leading the development and integration of innovative technologies. Three (3) years of experience in a technical engineering role with a proven track record of leading the development and integration of innovative technologies must include: Experience with modern programming languages and development frameworks; Leading the design and implementation of complex software systems and platforms, particularly those incorporating AI, machine learning, or other emerging technologies; Developing and managing APIs and service-oriented architectures that can handle heterogeneous data types; Cloud-native technologies including expertise in using Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) to build scalable, resilient, and efficient software solutions; and Continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and cloud infrastructure management to ensure high availability and performance of applications.
