Role title:        Senior DevOps Engineer
 

Reports to:     DevOps Manager
 

Opportunity snapshot
 

Member of the DevOps team with responsibility for supporting existing DevOps tools in addition to designing & building new capabilities. This role will primarily be supporting the SS&C managed services platform which hosts in-house developed software applications for our customers on AWS.
 

Role responsibilities
 

Maintain the existing CI/CD pipeline (Octopus Deploy, TeamCity, git/TFS, PowerShell)Assess and build new monitoring capability across on-premises & cloud hosted environmentsDesign and implement new automation solutions using existing DevOps toolsManage the design and implementation of new pipelinesAssist in Managing Projects through to completion with the Devops Manager/SupervisorSupport implementation of our next generation product stack (Microservices, Terraform, EKS, Consul, Vault)Work with Cloud Engineers to develop AWS Solutions2nd level support for Devops Activites.

Experience
 

IT degree, or equivalent experience5+ years experience working in a DevOps roleSolid understanding of DevOps practices and methodsWorking knowledge of SDLC principles and methodologiesPrevious Software Engineer &/or IT Operations role’s with significant scripting/coding experienceUnderstanding of hosting production environments on AWSAdvanced knowledge of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery build pipelinesExperience working with microservices, containerisation (docker) and infrastructure as codeA passion for automating manual processesKeen to continuously improve & innovate
