This group provides strategic partnership, production support and project execution to CIBC’s Mobile & internet applications - CIBC Online Banking, cibc.com, Simplii Financial, and CIBC Bank USA. You will be a key member of the technology team supporting CIBC’s Digital Transformation, successfully implementing complex, enterprise-scale solutions on Cloud-native platforms with a variety of system integrations and DevSecOps practices. As a Senior Developer, you will be mentoring junior developers, and fostering a collaborative environment and lead the development and implementation of solutions and be an expert programmer for your tech stack. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview_ **How You’ll Succeed** + **API Design and Development:** Lead the design and development of APIs by analyzing business requirements, applying high-level design principles, and implementing best practices and modern design patterns. + **Problem Solving and System Design:** Analyze complex technical challenges, decompose them into manageable components, and propose effective coding and architectural solutions. Leverage modern development methodologies and processes to deliver scalable and maintainable systems. + **Code Quality and Best Practices:** Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code that adheres to industry best practices. Champion robust testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, and promote CI/CD pipelines to ensure high-quality deliverables. + **Continuous Improvement:** Drive continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and team practices. Advocate for high-quality work, productivity, and innovation while fostering a culture of excellence and adaptability to modern technologies. + **Operational Excellence:** Provide advanced support for operational activities, troubleshoot complex coding issues, and optimize system performance through effective tuning and debugging techniques. + **Collaboration and Communication:** Communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate closely with Product Owners, QA teams, and cross-functional development teams to ensure alignment and successful project delivery. **Who You Are** + **Hands-on experience:** 8–10 years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE, Spring/Springboot, and API development (RESTful and/or GraphQL). + **Cross-functional collaboration** - Experience working with product managers, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders. Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation, including design documents, API specifications, troubleshooting guides and experience participating in spring planning, code reviews and retrospectives. + **Designing and implementing** –Proven expertise with scalable, secure & resilient Microservices using Spring Boot and enterprise-scale solutions using microservice design patterns. Familiarity with API versioning, documentation (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI), and best practices. + **You put our clients first.** You engage with purpose to find the right solutions.
