The Lead Design Engineer supports the New Product and Repair Engineering functions by undertaking the design development of components for Aero Derivative and Heavy Industrial Gas Turbines. This role also drives the continuous improvement of our functional methods and processes. **In this role you will be accountable for:** • Lead the Component Design function, driving right first-time development and continual improvement of our methods and processes • Create Full Life Cycle Design solutions through concept, design, manufacture, operation and in service support • Integrating cross-discipline engineering concepts, collaborating across manufacturing engineering, materials, and supply chain functions • Document and verify information against sound mechanical engineering practices and references • Presenting at technical reviews in front of peers and expert panels **To succeed in this role, you will need:** • Engineering Degree with a minimum of 7 years of industrial experience • Previous experience designing and validating Gas Turbine Components, Repairs and Systems • Proven ability to lead the technical contributions of assigned resources, both internally and externally • Proficiency in CAD software such as NX, PLM systems such as Team Centre and familiarity with fatigue and fracture mechanics analysis such as LCF/HCF • Strong planning skills with a track record of delivering on time • Good communication, presentation, and collaboration skills **Your benefits:** Sulzer offers an excellent package of benefits (CAO Metalektro), including: • A more than competitive salary • A generous number of holidays (40) • A solid pension scheme • Training opportunities • Company restaurant at the facility with tasty and healthy options **Location:** We are based in Lomm (close to Venlo), which is a great place to live.
