As a Lead Data Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Production Management team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Generates data models for their team using firmwide tooling, linear algebra, statistics, and geometrical algorithmsDelivers data collection, storage, access, and analytics data platform solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable wayImplements database back-up, recovery, and archiving strategy Evaluates and reports on access control processes to determine effectiveness of data asset security with minimal supervisionMaintains and supports Db2 database applicationsDevelops rapport with application development teams for collaborationSupports review of controls to ensure sufficient protection of enterprise dataMaintains highest levels of stability, integrity, reliability, and availabilityAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on Data engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceProficiency with both relational and NoSQL databasesKnowledge of the data lifecycle and data management functionsUnderstanding of relational databases and SQLWorking knowledge of mainframe data system components to determine controls neededStrong understanding of data modeling fundamentals (e.g., primary and foreign keys, constraints, indexing, etc.)Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, with a passion to build an inclusive and innovative cultureKnowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practicesExperience with performance analysis and ability to optimize SQL workloadsUnderstanding of Sysplex mainframe configuration including data sharing Proficient knowledge of linear algebra, statistics, and geometrical algorithms Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsUnderstanding of general Mainframe Utilities, Database Utilities and Stored Procedures Familiar with mainframe environment and the use of TSO / ISPFUnderstanding of Distributed and Static SQL workloadsFamiliar with IDAA (Data Analytics Accelerators)
