Lead Data Analyst - Sourcing Insights

Position Overview:
The Lead Data Analyst will develop analytics insights and reporting efforts for the Sourcing Data Insights Team at Polaris. The expectation is to go beyond traditional analytics reporting and provide actionable insights, facilitating change and business improvement. Key responsibilities include the ongoing delivery of reporting and insights, ad-hoc analysis and problem-solving, developing insightful recommendations to improve business performance, and collaborating with other analysts and the central data team to deliver those solutions. Work and collaborate cross-functionally with various stakeholders, including IT, Analytics, and Data Science teams, as well as outside agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development of standard data analysis, reports, and dashboards. Demonstrating high technical knowledge of analytical tools as well as business context to drive insights across various stakeholders.Independently drive the full cycle of analytics workflow from requirements gathering, to data collection, to reporting and visualization.Partner with IT, Central Data Scientists, and Data Engineers to determine the best approach to gather, model, manipulate, analyze, and present data.Cultivate effective relationships and instill confidence with cross-functional stakeholders and other relevant groups to facilitate and manage efforts across teams, leveraging insights to drive change.Design and develop data models and metrics to support key business strategies, initiatives, and decisions.Explore data, technologies, and the application of mathematical techniques to derive business insights.Lead the facilitation across teams to develop and validate insights, leveraging the team’s statistical analysis to support problem-solving efforts.Create roadmaps that deliver business insights leveraging shared templates, toolkits, and best practices.Serve as a liaison between Sourcing Data Analytics Insights and cross-functional business stakeholders, earning their confidence through reliable follow-through and the proposal of actionable business insights that are accurate and objective.
Champions technical innovations and leads peers through adoption and use.Provide guidance and direction to junior Data Analysts for project execution.Provide technical leadership to new business pursuits within the area of focus.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, data analytics, Mathematics, or equivalent quantitative discipline.8+ years of professional working experience in analytics or a related area of focus is required.5+ years of professional experience with SQL queries, data modeling, and data visualization, with the aptitude to learn new ones quickly.Proven business partnership connecting business questions with technical skills needed to address them.An ability to develop a clear understanding of how the business operates so that analytical results can be framed in a business context.Ability to lead an agile team, which requires active participation in team meetings, engagement with stakeholders, and presentation of data-supported recommendationsAbility to effectively partner on complex technical projects with non-technical business stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.Ability to build technical strategy and vision within assigned space.Effectively manage other technical resources in either formal reporting or technical leadership.Extensive experience developing and maintaining Power dashboards and Alteryx Workflows.Very Strong Excel skills, especially working with pivot tables (Power Pivot a plus), statistical, and financial analysis.Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple work requests and projects.The ability to take on diverse ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests with varying complexity and scope.Able to effectively present analytic products to business leaders.Expert-level analysis skills, including the ability to identify patterns, potential issues, and translate the same into functional requirements or plans.Take a measured and thoughtful approach to difficult situations.Strong cause analysis and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and turn around analysis and provide answers quickly.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated application of statistical analysis in creating recommendations and identifying solutions

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $113,000 to $140,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.  While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
