Job Description
As a Lead Controls Technician, you will manage troubleshooting and support for electrical issues on production lines, as well as facility equipment and infrastructure across the campus. You will conduct routine and advanced PLC program modifications through project upgrades and maintenance troubleshooting activities. Additionally, you will develop new control systems for automation projects.
ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times to ensure a safe work environment.Familiarity with NEC, NEMA, NFPA, and OSHA code compliance.Lead troubleshooting for equipment PLC programs to minimize downtime.Create new PLC programs where necessary.Design and implement control systems using sensors, motion control, and feedback loops.Comply with all company policies and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills4-6 years of relevant electrical controls technician experience in manufacturing.Strong communication skills.Capable of interpreting and applying NEC, NFPA, and OSHA codes.Familiarity with 3 phase electrical power applications.Experience with RS500, RS5000, Studio5000, and View Studio.Experience with servo motors and controls.Demonstrated ability with PLC troubleshooting, interface, and programming skills.Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and prints.Additional Skills & Qualifications4-year degree in Electrical Technology or Control Systems is preferred (candidates without a degree will be considered if they have relevant experience).Ability to be a team player.Must be detail-oriented with strong organization skills.Must be results-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and provide guidance to others.Work Environment
80% manufacturing and 20% office environment. No travel is associated with this role. There are two shifts available: one first shift role, 4 days on and 4 days off, and one night shift role, 4 days on and 4 days off.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $40.00/hr.
