Lead Contract Negotiator

Oracle America is looking for a Lead Contracts Analyst (senior level team member) to support Technology Procurement by leading complex contract negotiations, with a focus on legal terms, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting all of Oracle's technology requirements (SaaS, Software, Hardware, and Technology Professional Services) in North America. 

 

The successful candidate must be geographically located in the Rocklin, CA or Austin, TX area. 

Responsibilities for this role include: 

Manage complex contract negotiations that support a wide variety of internal business units (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, NetSuite, Global Physical Security, Oracle Health, and more), for the categories of software and hardware master contracts (focus on Legal terms). 

Negotiate country-specific agreements under a global master to implement local laws/regulations where necessary. 

Perform contract review and analysis to determine contract obligations, requirements, and remedies. 

Conducting gap analysis of existing versus new contracts with a supplier. 

Review of product and service orders under existing master contracts to ensure there are no deviations to governing terms. 

Assist in preparing and drafting contract and product and service order documents. 

Project managing the contract lifecycle from the beginning of a negotiation through to contract execution. 

Successful relationship building with both key internal stakeholders and a variety of suppliers across multiple global regions. 

Ability to write executive level summaries, directed to both legal and business executives, seeking approval of key non-standard terms prior to contract execution.

Work cooperatively with internal stakeholders to meet business operation and cost objectives.

 

Desired skills and training include:

Bachelor degree in Economics, Business, or related field of study.

Juris Doctor degree is strongly preferred, as this role is largely focused on the review and negotiation of legal terms.

4-7 years of corporate indirect procurement experience, preferably in the technology industry.

Knowledge of the Technology industry, including the SaaS, Software, Electronic Health Records, and Technology Professional Services industries.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully build relationships and influence individuals both up and down the organizational hierarchy.

Ability to deal with potentially confrontational situations with patience, diplomacy, and tact. 

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Self-motivated to work independently to deliver positive business results.

Confidently and appropriately exercise sound judgment.

Ability to manage multiple contract negotiations simultaneously to meet business deadlines and goals.

Ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders on a regional, global, and/or virtual basis.

Strong organizational skills to manage and successfully complete tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment. 

Ability to meet business critical deadlines and work effectively in a team environment. 

Ability to engage with, comprehend, and adopt existing and emerging technology tools as applicable to the role.
