Professional Service Senior Consultant, OpentText - Analytic Database
The Senior Consultant is part of the Analytic Database Professional Services team based in Paris, France. His/her primary role is to provide technology consulting services to our Vertica customers.
He/she provides technical expertise, architectural guidance, and project support to both new and existing customers based on their needs, expectations, and constraints to ensure a successful experience with Analytic Database.
The Senior Consultant is also the key person to initiate and design new Analytic Database implementations, provide best practice recommendations, facilitate knowledge transfer, assist clients in solving point-in-time challenges, and partner with the client to increase effective use and adoption of the solution.
Where appropriate, he/she will act as a trusted advisor to our clients to develop and maintain effective relationships.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Consultant is an energetic, customer-facing professional with proven service experience and expertise in technology solutions. He/she will be able to listen, question, analyse and discuss customer needs. A strong understanding of technology like Analytic Database is also required, as well as strong experience of enterprise analytics platforms and architectures.
The Senior Consultant is the primary point of contact for the client during the implementation process and after the client goes live with the solution. His/her role is critical in maintaining a strong relationship between the Vertica organisation and the client.
He/she will be responsible for a consistent and significant level of billable work.
Therefore, he/she will be responsible for comprehensive reporting while delivering.
He/she travels as needed to meet with Customers in person.
The Senior Consultant will be part of a human scale Analytic Database team and will be required to work outside his/her primary area of responsibility: the Senior Consultant will contribute to the company's business development by generating and nurturing new business opportunities and providing technical support in the development of business proposals.
Must Have:
10+ years’ experience in a customer facing role such as a Professional Services role, Solution Engineering/Architecture, or Technical Account Management preferably in a software company. 10+ years' experience in implementing enterprise data analytics architecture, data warehouse, big data, business intelligence, preferably including experience of challenging, large-scale projects including massively parallel processing solution.Experience with large enterprise customers, working with a technical customer audience and enterprise IT projects and processes.Proven ability to share knowledge, coach, and lead people internally and externally to drive outcomes.Strong open communicator. Excellent presentation, meeting, and report facilitation skillsAbility to work comfortably across geographies and cultures.Proactive, positive and team player with a strong commitment to the continuous improvement of a world-class professional services organisation.Master’s Degree or higher in computer science or related area of studyFluency in English and French required. Spanish, Italian, or German knowledge appreciated.

Analytics mindsetVery strong SQL database background & expertise from general configuration, platform migration and project development; ideally with Massively Parallel Processing Databases like Analytic Database/Vertica.Expertise in Performance tuning and optimization techniques in a Database environmentGood experience in Data Warehousing and analytic project architectureGood practice of Linux OS Experience in shell scripting, Python development or other languages.Experience with handling applications deployments, upgrades, managing processes in on-premises and cloud environments.Experience with analytic database ecosystems including real-time or batch data ingestion and transformation tools data visualisation and reporting tools. Experience in advanced analytics and data science appreciated.
