Job Summary Performs Coding Quality Reviews Performs New Coder Training Performs DRG Denial Reviews Assists Coding Manager with various projects Provides appropriate level of leadership to the department personnel Performs reviews of accounts needing correction for coding related issues Qualifications Education Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Information Management or related Health Care Degree required. Experience Minimum 4 - 7 years acute care hospital coding experience required; inpatient coding preferred. Experience performing compliance reviews/audits preferred. Inpatient, outpatient, compliance, medical necessity and ICD-10 experience preferred. (Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience) Licensure/Certification/Registration/ETC. Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) or other equivalent coding certification required. Compensation/Benefits $22.87-$37.37/hr depending on previous work experience.
