What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced lead Full-Stack engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with the Angular framework for frontend and Python for backend development, as well as leadership and technical expertise to guide our team. Additionally, experience with PySpark for data engineering/ETL pipelines and experience with scalable services on cloud platforms is a plus. We are looking for a candidate who is eager to learn new technologies and is willing to adapt to new challenges.

GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration

What will you do?

Design and develop scalable, secure, efficient, and maintainable web applications using Angular

Develop and maintain backend systems using Python, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability

Ensure the security and integrity of internet-facing applications, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption

Participate in the design and implementation of data engineering and ETL pipelines using PySpark

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements

Mentor and guide engineers, providing technical guidance and code reviews

Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and frameworks, and apply this knowledge to improve existing systems and processes

Lead the technical direction of the team, including architecture, design, and implementation of software systems

Collaborate with product owners to define and prioritize requirements

Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, and technical specifications

Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to coding standards

Collaborate with DevOps and Operations teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of applications

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

8+ years of experience combined in programming, small to large-scale applications with focus on full-stack development; 1+ year in team lead or similar capacity with full end-to-end ownership in delivering a project

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related technical fields

Strong backend skills with Python, including design and integration patterns, testing, debugging and experience with frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask

Skilled in Angular framework applying best practices and guidelines

Expert in DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD pipelines.

Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to new challenges

Proven experience in leading technical teams, including technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching

Strong technical leadership skills, including the ability to make technical decisions, prioritize tasks, and manage technical resources

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Ability to drive technical innovation, including researching new technologies, evaluating technical options, and recommending technical solutions

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues, optimize system performance, and ensure high-quality software delivery

Experience with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban, and the ability to apply these principles to lead the team

Nice to Have

Experience with cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Experience with PySpark for Data Engineering/ETL pipelines

Familiarity with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes
