Lead the Team That Keeps the OR Moving! UPMC Presbyterian is hiring a Lead Sterile Processing Technician to support evening shift (2 PM – 10:30 PM) and night shift (10 PM – 6:30 AM).

What You’ll Do:

Take charge during evenings, nights, weekends, or when leadership is off-site Supervise day-to-day workflow, train new staff, and ensure compliance with critical safety and infection control protocols Scrub, sterilize, assemble, and troubleshoot instrumentation and surgical trays Serve as the go-to liaison between the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) and the OR Drive performance improvement projects and mentor team members Participate in committees, lead professional development, and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives Champion teamwork, diversity, and a positive, respectful work environment

What It Takes:

Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy trays Comfort with repetitive, detail-oriented tasks A strong sense of urgency and ownership Willingness to work every third weekend, select holidays, and occasional on-call hours
