**Overview of the Position Responsibilities:** The Billing Lead is primarily responsible for managing financial operations related to accounts receivable, including processing bank batches, reconciling bank records, generating A/R aging reports, and managing auto-dialer campaigns to support billing representatives. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of billing records.
In addition to financial responsibilities, the Billing Lead acts as a support resource for the billing and collections team, assisting team members with system navigation, escalated issues, and process clarification. The Billing Lead also partners with the Billing Specialist III to support Commercial Billing needs, helping to resolve complex issues, facilitate communication with commercial clients, and ensure billing accuracy for high-value accounts.
**What You Will Do:**
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Investigate and resolve billing disputes and discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
+ Assist in training and mentoring junior collection specialists, offering guidance and support to improve team performance.
+ Run daily bank batches to process customer payments accurately and efficiently.
+ Reconcile bank records to ensure alignment with posted transactions and investigate any variances.
+ Load and manage auto-dialer campaigns for billing representatives to support outbound collection efforts.
+ Act as the primary point of contact for all commercial collection issues, delivering exceptional customer service.
+ Build and maintain positive relationships with key customers to facilitate payment and encourage future business opportunities.
+ Review Salesforce contract agreements to resolve complex billing matters within Icoms/IAD.
+ Follow credit & collections processes and procedures; negotiate payment terms within company policies.
+ Coordinate with internal departments to address and resolve issues affecting collections.
+ Share best practices, tools, and industry knowledge to strengthen the team’s capabilities.
+ Perform all other related duties as assigned.

+ High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
+ 5 + years of experience in billing, collections, or accounts receivable, preferably in a commercial or high-volume environment.
+ Prior experience in a lead or support role within a billing or finance team is highly desirable.
+ Strong understanding of A/R processes, billing cycles, and collections best practices.
+ Proficiency with billing/accounting software (experience with ICOMS, IAD, and Salesforce is a plus).
+ Advanced Excel skills and experience generating and analyzing reports (e.g., A/R aging, reconciliation).
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build rapport with customers and collaborate with internal teams.
+ Problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate and resolve complex billing or system issues.
+ Ability to handle sensitive financial information with integrity and confidentiality.
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team resource, including mentoring junior staff.
+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and solve practical problems.
+ Excellent written and verbal communications skills including active listening skills and telephone etiquette are required.
+ Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Great organizational and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to maintain professionalism in challenging and/or changing situations.
+ Must be able to pass a background and drug test prior to employment.
+ Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
+ Regularly required to talk and hear.
+ Required to use hands, handle objects and paperwork.
+ Required to use close vision and be able to focus.
+ Required to refrain from personal use of technology during working hours.
+ Must be able to operate office equipment including but not limited to telephone, headset, computer, and printer.
+ Required to lift up to 5lbs at a given time.
+ Must have reliable transportation.
