Lead Asset Based Lending Underwriter

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Asset Based Lending Underwriter (Lead Secured Lending Underwriter) for the Channel Finance division.  Wells Fargo Channel Finance provides asset based working capital lines of credit and accounts receivable purchase facilities to technology companies across the globe with credit facilities ranging from $500M to $2.5Bn.  The UW is expected to work closely with Senior Management, Relationship Management and Business Development to maintain and grow a portfolio of new and existing client relationships.   This individual will be responsible for underwriting and closing a variety of moderately complex transactions with moderate support and oversight.


In this role, you will:

Lead deal teams by coordinating with Originations, Relationship Management, Credit, and Product Partners to underwrite, document, and close new and existing senior secured asset-based loans or unsecured A/R purchase facilities for public and private companies, including sponsor-owned, ranging in size from $5MM to $1Bn+Analyze and understand collateral, historical and projected financial statements, cash flows, liquidity, relevant valuation metrics, and market significanceCoordinate and drive the scope of due diligence including collateral focused field examinations; inventory appraisals; quality of earnings review; and background investigationsDevelop and maintain a positive relationship with prospective clients throughout the customer lifecycleOrganize diligence meetings to assess the quality and strength of management and develop a deeper understanding of the borrower’s business, financial profile, and industry positionIdentify critical transactional and structural risks, complete in-depth diligence on critical focus areas, and propose situation appropriate mitigants or structuring alternativesComplete comprehensive credit approval and funding memosPresent underwritten transactions to credit and senior management in a clear and concise manner with well-reasoned supportExpertly structure loans and negotiate legal documents to ensure the transaction is appropriately documented in accordance with credit approvalManage client and internal constituents expectations throughout the approval and loan closing process through frequent and effective communicationAccurately complete all compliance requirements including leverage lending, high risk borrowers, exception tracking, risk ratings, and financial crimesOversee seamless onboarding of new clients in coordination with Relationship ManagementActively engage on special projects, and as a mentor to junior team members


Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Secured Lending Underwriting experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

Asset Based Lending and/or Supply Chain Finance experienceExperience with private equity firmsCustomer facing experienceSecured lending legal loan documentation and negotiation experience

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

Salary is just one component of Wells Fargo's total rewards package. Depending on the role, a Wells Fargo's employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

$96,600.00 - $188,900.00
