HOW A LEAD APPIAN DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Perform all phases of the software development lifecycle (Agile / DevOps)Lead/facilitate solutioning discussions with the customer and vendorAnalyze user/business needs and functionality to plan and design software systems to meet those needsIdentify system interface requirements and develop solutions to meet the requirementsCreate a variety of models and diagrams that show programmers the software code needed for an applicationPerform software updates, refinement, testing, and debugging to meet business needsProvides analysis for reports on software project specifications, activities, or statusAdvise on the software or system for optimal documentation and future maintenance and updatesMay coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionalsMay serve as a team or task leadEnsure technical teams understand short term and long-term goals of the program and business efforts by facilitating communication between technical and non-technical stakeholdersAssesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectivesHelp clarify requirements and propose solutions that meet business milestones as well as directing the technical implementationsEngage current customers to understand critical needs, socialize and vet solutions, and advise on strategies to achieve desired resultsIdentify and select the best technical solutions and approaches to meet anticipated or actual requirementsWill jump in when necessary to help diagnose larger system issues and work with project managers to confidently complete projects on timeAdditional tasks will include helping to determine high-level and detailed estimates, creating technical workflow and other supporting documentation to help drive the implementation of large enterprise systems projects as well as helping to implement best practices around technical development and deployment

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

BA/BS degree (computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software)

Required Experience:

5+ years of technical leadership experienceAppian Certified Lead DeveloperCertified Scrum Master (CSM) or Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)SAFe Agilist or SAFe DevOps PractitionerEffective written and verbal communication skills (both technical and non-technical)Track record of leading and managing successful Appian implementationsDeep experience in developing and managing Appian workflows, user interfaces, decision rules, and data modelsThorough understanding of and experience in software development lifecycle and Agile delivery methodology

Security Clearance Level:

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprintingThis position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

LOCATION:

Work location is in Washington, DC. Some remote/hybrid work performance is possible.
