Description

The Ramp Service Employee (RSE) is responsible for processing baggage, boxes, and/or cargo between baggage/cargo areas in the airport facilities and aircraft, as well as receiving and dispatching aircraft. We pride ourselves on being an on-time airline and are seeking dedicated individuals that understand a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards of operational safety and customer service.

Duties include but not limited to:Responsible for upholding safety standards, including MOCHA audit completion, safety inspections and feedback to RSEsResponsible for arriving and departing flights, using new loading/unloading and scanning toolsResponsible for the mail & cargo shuttle operationResponsible for the daily baggage arrivals/departures/connection areaEnsuring you drive the performance to meet company’s performance metricsAllocation of staff where necessary including breaks, overtime in all areasResponsible for compiling and delivering daily briefingsFollow and uphold PPE & uniform appearance standardsAssisting in RSE interviews when necessaryAssist supervisors with performance management, feedback and employee developmentSupport the supervisor team with collateral and project workParticipate and organize internal monthly safety meetings alongside supervisor as part of the Station Safety Action Team Liaison and assist with service partners in above the wing team, SOC team for on time departureSupport with aircraft damage and employee injury investigationAct as ‘Turnaround Co-ordinator or go to individual identified, to ensure consistent compliance with industry best practice (OSI 22, section 3.1.3)

This position is offered on local terms and conditions.  Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications Ramp/Operational experience preferredPrevious supervisory/leadership experienceSecondary School Education or equivalent school leaving certificateStrong Customer Service focusSound Administration skills (Microsoft word, Excel, Emails) including detailed knowledge of Ramp procedures and the Security ImplicationsTact and DiplomacyCultural Awareness of Work Force – Good Leadership skillsStrong Interpersonal SkillsAbility to work under pressure and multi-task as requiredTeamworkA good dependability recordOverall knowledge of United’s Aircraft Loading/unloading ProceduresMust be flexible, willing and able to work all shifts (early/late) on a rotating shift patternMust be fluent in English and Japanese (written and spoken)Must have permanent residency in JapanMust be legally authorized to work in the Japan for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
