Job Responsibilities:

Roles and Responsibilities:

To lead, direct and support Press Tool & Die employees safely and efficiently, to coordinate and communicate with other departments, follow safe work methods, and to conform to the Employee’s Charter principles and plant standards. Responsible for leading the team to provide technical support to ensure tooling meets equipment efficiencies.  Provide effective leadership to the team while promoting the Employee’s Charter and Charter Principles.

Essential Functions:

Ensure a quality product (measuring tools, part inspection and fixtures) and know the quality procedures.Schedule, supervise, coordinate and direct the activities of employees and equipment to ensure that quality and productivity standards are met.Take daily line UPS/Carry over/PM’s/Red tag issues/Follow ECN and tooling improvementParticipate and implement Lean activities as they are introduced such as 5S, Kanban, PDCA’s and Standardized work. Assist toolmakers in decisions on tool repair and ensure the work is being done in a timely mannerMaintain TPM of all tooling, and make sure all tooling is ready to meet press schedules

Position Requirements:

Ability to work in team environment

Must be willing to work extended or flexible hours as required to meet production demands

Must be willing to work in various locations within and outside the facility

Must be able to convert metrics to standard procedures

Ability to use all tool room equipment and measuring tools

Must be able to initiate productivity improvements

Work Experience/Education:

High School Diploma and 2 year degree from a technical college with an emphasis on Tool & Die.Minimum 5 years Automotive experience in heavy stamping, transfer/progressive, heat treat, pil, host, tig welding, die building preferred.
