ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supplier Relations:
Provide research and prospecting within ASEAN region for assigned category. Identify and internally communicate supplier concerns or opportunities. Support cost recovery initiatives.Lead problem resolution discussions with suppliers and ensures the adequacy and timeliness of supplier correction action plans.Lead development and implementation of supplier contracts.Lead the implementation of cost reduction projects, supplier exits, and tool transitions.Monitor cost, schedule, technical, and drawing release status of projects and lead corrective actions as required.Enter cost changes, assign selected suppliers, and support sourcing projects.Prepare and solicit requests for quotes and proposals based on the defined commodity strategy.Coordinate and communicate new component releases and design changes with suppliers.Ensures that tooling is appropriate based on cost and quality requirements. Negotiate tooling cost with global suppliers.Commodity Strategy:
Liaison with Global Sourcing team to develop and execute supply chain strategy.Coordinate the implementation of cost reduction projects, supplier exits, and tool transitions.Sourcing Priority Management:
Establish contractual commitments to ensure longer-term cost savings to meet departmental goals.Monitor and drive supplier performance for assigned categories to ensure suppliers are meeting Polaris requirements for quality and delivery.Support supplier quality function in determining root cause, necessary containment and counter measure activities for quality related issues.Help support part shortages and delivery issues when necessary.Monitors supply chain metrics and drive performance through measurement and reporting.Conducts make vs. buy analysis. Prepares and solicits requests for quotes and proposals.Lead coordination of resources between multiple departments (Quality, NPI, Operations, etc.) to assist in development, launch and production.Other Duties as Assigned
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or technical areaAPICS CPIM and/or ISM C.P.M./A.P.P. desired.5+ years direct experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain Planning or relevant category experience (sales, engineering, etc.)Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
Effective negotiation, decision making, and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated willingness to lead with a strong ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.Proven tactical expertise with a strong track record in project and execution.Excellent written & verbal communication within team and cross-functionally.Comfortable processing large data sets and performing analysis in ExcelHighly organized and effective in managing multiple priorities and deadlines.Ability to professionally represent Polaris by developing productive working relationships with suppliers.Capable of reading and interpreting engineering documentation and technical data.Comfortable negotiating contracts such as Master Supply Agreement, Business Awards and Letters of Intent.Working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems.Experienced in presentation abilities, including PowerPoint development.
