Laundry Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for overseeing and supervising the laundry attendants and their daily work performance. Maintaining a clean and acceptable quality of linen supply for the hotel. Responsible for maintaining all laundry equipment and providing a pleasant working environment within the laundry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Complete weekly payroll for laundry staff. Complete daily hours/productivity report. The complete weekly work schedule for laundry staff. Maintain adequate linen supplies for room attendants. Maintain a clean laundry and storage area. Assist in the yearly budgeting plan. Complete monthly/quarterly inventories of linen. Training of all new employees and completing the weekly training reports in a timely manner. Compliance with energy program. Discussions with the Executive Housekeeper on worker performance. Compliance with the standard policy in regard to the laundry operation. Maintain an ongoing reclaim program. Handling guest requests. All other duties as requested by the Executive Housekeeper. Responsible for reporting associate accidents and other administrative duties. Other job duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Management experience and organized management skills are required.  Past laundry experience is a plus.  A high school diploma or equivalent is needed.  Computer knowledge and good communication skills. Must be able to speak English.    Willing to work long hours, weekends, and holidays.  Must be flexible with hours.

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as through recreational experience.
