Position Summary:
The Laser Operator is responsible for operating and setting up CNC laser machinery. As the laser operator you are also responsible for the cutting of metal parts and ensure they are cut to the right specification. Also set up and adjust the machine lens to meet the correct specifications. Make sure all routine checks are done on the CNC laser machine before and after operation.
Major Responsibilities:
Operate the CNC laserCompetent use of hand tools.Ability to load programs, set machine parameters and proper fixtures to ensure optimal performance of equipment.Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal points.Perform dimensional inspections.Maintain production schedule.Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions.Troubleshoot and maintain the machine.Coordinate with purchasing to manage sheet steel and consumables inventory.Operate forklift, pallet jacks, hoist, etc. to lift and transport materials exceeding 50 poundsPerformance of cycle counts as prescribed by Production and Inventory Control.Full understanding of housekeeping expectationsInterpretation of work orders, blueprints, and bills of material.Assists in deburring materialOther duties and responsibilities as required.Required Education / Experience / Skills:
