Laser Operator
Uses established processes to set up, program, and operate various types of industrial grade machines to form, cut, bend, size, and/or machine aerospace quality components from Nickel, Stainless, and Titanium alloys.
Functions and Responsibilities
+ Perform setups and operations using Fiber and/or YAG CNC lasers on production hardware.
+ May train others on part set-up and run.
+ May repair, rework, or recut parts with guidance and oversight.
+ Identify and solve, with direct oversight, machine alignment problems.
+ Troubleshoot minor program errors independently.
+ Provide some input on tool design.
+ Able to set up and run parts with limited resource support, within established timeframes on a minimum of two machine types.
+ Applies basic understanding of G and M code.
+ Work under limited oversight.
+ May perform shop support responsibilities, including but not limited to, deburring, manual pressure cleaning, part prep.
+ And any other duties assigned to help drive to our vision, fulfill our commitments, and carry out our organization’s virtues.
Qualifications
+ Must be able to use mathematics relevant to laser operator functions.
+ Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity.
+ Able to do some job development with guidance and oversight.
+ Reads and understands manufacturing planning, sketches, blueprints, and specifications as necessary to perform the job function.
+ Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Knows where to find this information at Exotic and asks for help when necessary.
Working Conditions
+ Use of protective clothing, laser safety glasses, and other equipment to prevent burns and eye injuries.
+ Frequent use of hand tools and pressure washer.
+ Frequent crane use and overhead work.
Physical Requirements
+ The laser operator performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, repetitive lifting up to 40 pounds, balancing, and handling of material.

+ Our 2nd shift receives a shift differential of $2.00 per hour. Our weekend shifts receive $6.00 shift differential pay while working 36 hours per week.

The wage range for this role considers allowances for a number of factors, including but not limited to required experience, skill level, prior training, licensure/certifications, education and other business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $19.75 - $28.25/Hourly.
