Large Animal/Farm Animal Reseller Channel Specialist

Job Summary
The Channel Specialist builds and manages relationships with key partners while improving sales and performance in assigned customer segments. Additional responsibilities include implementing and executing sales strategies to achieve Company goals, accomplished through development of strong partnerships with members of the sales team, and application of industry and channel knowledge.

Essential Functions

Analyzes current and prospective accounts for growth opportunities across the region, in partnership with the broader sales team

Manages key accounts within territory, by channel, working with other members of the sales team

Consults with customers to assess needs, and recommend enhancements to current services or products

Collaborates with Pricing Team and other internal stakeholders to integrate products and services into strategic pricing plans

Works with sales leaders and other stakeholders to develop and manage sales programs

Builds relationships with channel partners and distributors through trade association meetings and other industry events

Prepares and analyzes channel sales reports, identifies areas for growth based on Company and/or customer goals

Leads training of sales team and other stakeholders on channel-related sales initiatives

Supports the launch of new products and product extensions and/or transitions, and value-added services

Comply with Company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience

5 years experience in sales of animal health/agriculture products


Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of the animal health industry, specifically within assigned channel

Ability to independently lead sales programs and other related initiatives with limited supervision

Ability to effectively work and lead in a professional environment with rapidly shifting priorities

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong technical acumen, including proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to solve problems that are difficult in scope/complexity

Environmental Conditions

Office: This position primarily operates in a professional office environment in which team members occupy desks in assigned areas or at meeting/collaboration spaces within the building. The building's primary work areas consist of desks, chairs, computers, and other office equipment and devices for professional services.

Facility: This position is in a fulfillment center. The fulfillment center is a warehouse for the storage and distribution of dental and/or animal health supplies and equipment. In general, the building’s primary work area consists of pallet storage racking, roller storage, and small item storage shelving. The facility may use powered conveyor systems for the transportation of products. Pallet jacks and forklifts are used for palletized products. Some positions require use of safety equipment, which is provided as needed.

Primary Traveling: This position requires traveling to customer locations and providing services and support to customers.

Remote: This position primarily completes work from a remote setting, most commonly, a home office. This may be referenced as flexible workplace.


Travel Requirements

60% Position requires calling on prospective and current customers in assigned region, travel to industry events, and Company meetings as needed. May include both day trips and overnight (multi-day) travel.
