Landscape Technician Team Lead

$20.59 - $25.53 minimum starting pay

Job Level: Individual Contributor

Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands.  Please remember that this range is the starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. 

What You Will Be Doing:

Lead grounds projects on Shelter’s campus. Oversee fertilizers and chemical applications to lawn and garden areas. Provide leadership and assist in training new employees. Provide communication with the Landscape Technician Mechanic and Superintendent of Grounds about equipment needed. Assist/lead grounds maintenance duties and snow removal as needed. Lead landscape construction projects to completion. Oversee projects and staff in the absence of the Superintendent of Grounds.

Due to the duties and responsibilities of this position a Motor Vehicle Report may be ordered on final candidates.

What We're Looking For:

Ability to take a lead role on the team and provide instruction to others.Ability to maintain schedules and work well with others.Ability to repair minor irrigation problems.Ability to do minor repairs on water features.Ability to operate all grounds maintenance equipment with proficiency.Proficient in use of spray equipment for fertilization, application of herbicides, insecticides and fungicides.Requires ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Must possess ability to bend, kneel and climb extensively.Must possess a current, valid driver’s license.Knowledge in the areas of horticulture, floriculture, arboriculture and turf management.Possess working knowledge in repair, replacement, and installation of the ground irrigation system.Responsible for reporting problematic growing conditions to the Superintendent of Grounds.Other duties may be assigned to meet ongoing business needs.Ability to perform essential functions of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
