In this position you will be afforded the opportunity to telework, however there will be required weekly in-office day(s) in Helena. Specific conditions will be outlined as part of the job offer and must adhere to state policy. *Specific Job Information:* *Job Duties:* Perform Landscape Architectural duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of Department facilities including administrative, recreational, hatchery and wildlife management facilities. Additional duties include inventories and assessments of existing facilities and consultation with applicable State, Federal and Tribal contacts regarding cultural resources. *Physical and Environmental Demands:* The Landscape Architect is required to travel frequently, often overnight. Some manual labor is required and physical condition to accomplish tasks is necessary. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. The work commonly involves long hours of outdoor activity sometimes in adverse conditions. This position is required to have or be eligible for a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a vehicle as the position requires, on average, 1000 to 2000 miles of travel (driving a car/truck) per month. This position also performs work in a typical office environment with extensive computer use. The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone. May sit for extended periods. The incumbent may also encounter periodic stressful occurrences. *Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:* Must have knowledge of Landscape Architectural principles, theories and applicable stipulations, state laws, and guidelines. Knowledge of general civil and architectural design and construction engineering and related policies, methods, specifications, standards, and regulations, contract administration including contract claims management practices, construction traffic control, equipment operation and capabilities, materials and testing, and safety practices. Knowledge of general mathematics. Ability to interpret plans and specifications, investigate, analyze and develop comprehensive solutions to complex construction and design problems associated with major projects or policies. Ability to solve problems in innovative and unique ways and think critically. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to work in a team and get along with others. General knowledge of Microsoft Suite software. Knowledge of stand-alone design CAD computer workstations including hardware and software capabilities and the ability to analyze, interpret and recommend solutions to complex hardware and software related problems. The position requires a good working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D Engineering software to include analyzing system problems and making the necessary corrections to make the software work. *Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):* The knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, or a related field and 2 or more years of job-related experience. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
