Weyerhaeuser is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Land Use Forester to support our Southern Timberlands operations in the Arkansas/Oklahoma Region. This full-time, exempt role is a key part of our Planning and Inventory team and reports directly to the Planning and Inventory Manager. The ideal candidate will live within a 60-minute commute of either our De Queen, AR or Broken Bow, OK offices and will play a vital role in managing land use activities across our working forestlands.
Key Functions:
Manage land use activities across approximately 1 million acres in Arkansas and Oklahoma, ensuring alignment with company policies and sustainable forestry practices.
Coordinate with neighboring landowners to address access needs, resolve boundary line discrepancies, and maintain positive working relationships.
Handle access and right-of-way requests, including evaluation, negotiation, and documentation of agreements with external parties.
Oversee boundary line maintenance, including identification and resolution of encroachments or disputes.
Support land transactions by assisting with small land acquisitions, sales, and timber appraisals in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Issue and monitor road use permits, and serve as a liaison with utility companies, DOT agencies, and internal legal and land title departments.

Education Experience: Bachelor’s degree in forestry, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience), with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work; 8 years preferred.
Technical Expertise: Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of forest economics, timber appraisal, and forestry Best Management Practices (BMPs).
Technology Proficiency: Experience with forest inventory and GIS systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; willingness to learn Weyerhaeuser’s Forest Management System (FMS).
Communication Negotiation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to negotiate, manage contracts, and resolve conflicts effectively.
Leadership Collaboration: Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in diverse team environments.
Safety Compliance: Commitment to safety standards and risk management, with the ability to accurately document field observations and represent company interests assertively and professionally.
Compensation:This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $68, 371 - $121,970 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5-7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
