Are you an experienced local land charges lead or senior officer looking for a dynamic role in local land charges management? 

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled local land charges lead or senior officer to play a key role in managing our busy local land charges team and delivering some key transformation projects to improved service delivery in this area.

 

In this role, you will apply your local land charges expertise to handle and manage local land charges transactions and  complaints, ensuring effective performance and income generation and retention. You will provide professional advice and recommendations on Local Land Charges matter as the service lead and be responsible for maintaining good customer service and relationships with iur key service users.

What will you be doing?

As a Local Land Charges Manager, you will be responsible for managing a busy local land charges team and ensuring the effective delivery of local land charges casework and leading on the His Majesty’s Land Registry (HMLR) digitalisation project and the LLC input to the IDOX Project to move to a single case management system for Planning and Regulatory Services;

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

 

Providing an effective service for managing the Council’s Local Land Charges (LLC) Function including; maintaining the Local Land Charges register, processing local land charge searches, liaising with the necessary LLPG/GIS officer for them to update the LLPG, provide system support, advice and information on LLC functions, and responding to customer queries about our services. 

 

Working with other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of the Local Land Charges Programme including; engagement with HM Land Registry, data discovery activities, data cleansing and digitisation of registerable local land charges data to comply with future land registry requirements regards the government’s initiative to become the world’s leading land registry. 

 

Delivering a professional customer focused Local Land Charges Service which meets customers’ needs and delivers good customer satisfaction and which fully explores future opportunities to grow market share and maximise income in Local Land Charges Services.

 

Supporting the Head of Building Control and Local Land Charges to deliver transformational change and innovation in services within your area of responsibility and cross cutting other areas of Regulatory Services and wider council service provision. To support in the implementation of change due to new legislation.

 

Collaborating with legal, solicitors, search agents/companies, internal stakeholders and project teams ensuring compliance with regulations and aligning with corporate objectives.

About you

As an experienced local land charges lead or senior officer, you will bring a combination of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to local land charges  management. 

 

You will have:

A degree in a relevant discipline or extensive experience in Local Land ChargesExpert knowledge and understanding of the Local Land Charge Service including working at a senior level.Knowledge and experience of how to effect cultural and behavioural change, developing high performing teams. Excellent leadership, negotiation and influencing skills, including change management and improvement in service delivery. An ability to work to tight deadlines and be flexible in work approaches. Excellent communication skills level of written and oral communication and IT user skill. An ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of customers, stakeholders, and partners.An innovative approach to problem solving and achieving value for money.Strong performance and financial management skillsA diplomatic approach to managing expectations and resolving disputes.
