D.R. Horton Inc. is looking for a Land Acquisitioner who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment and can find, evaluate, and close land deals that fuel our growth.

We’re looking for someone who:

Has a strong background in sales, real estate, or business developmentThrives on hitting targets, chasing leads, and closing dealsUnderstands or is eager to learn about land, zoning, entitlements, and developmentCommunicates with confidence, clarity, and professionalismIs self-motivated, highly organized, and relentless when pursuing opportunities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify and source vacant, buildable lotsMeet with seller or seller’s agent to negotiate the purchase of lotsDetermine lot viability for zoning, utilities, topography, locationBuild a proforma for the lot and support with a competitive market analysis Coordinate with engineer for survey, plot plan, soils, test pits, municipal submissionsConduct due diligence for each development opportunityWork with permitting, purchasing, construction, and sales to build and sell the lotMaintain close relationships with land developers, brokers, realtors, and landownersUnderwrite and analyze the financial aspects of each development opportunityCommunicate regularly with county and township officialsNegotiate purchase contracts with sellersStrive to meet or exceed Division Key Results Area standards

Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience requiredAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and email

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong written and oral communication skillsAbility to multi-task and attention to detailExperience in the residential homebuilding industry a plus

Compensation:

Annual Salary Range: $70,000 – $95,000, depending on qualifications and experienceAggressive bonus structure with opportunity to exceed $200,000
