GFL Environmental is looking for a Laborer/Equipment Operator to join our team in Victoria, British Columbia!

GFL Environmental is seeking a Laborer/Equipment Operator to join our team at the Victoria Transfer Station. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a dynamic outdoor environment and are committed to safety, teamwork, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Manually separate and sort materials from mixed loadsClean and maintain work areas and equipmentDirect traffic safely on-site as neededOperate a front-end loader and excavator safely and efficiently (part-time operation)Assist in load screening and spotting dutiesPerform manual tasks such as lifting/moving materials (up to 65 lbs)Follow all safety protocols and instructions with limited supervisionComplete other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

Valid driver’s licenseAbility to lift and move up to 65 pounds regularlyBasic reading, writing, and math skillsStrong problem-solving and communication abilitiesExperience operating equipment such as loaders/excavators (an asset)Forklift certification and first aid tickets are considered assetsMust meet safety-sensitive function criteria as per company standards
