Job Description
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to support general laboratory operations and routine tasks in a scientific research environment. The role involves working on plant transformation and tissue culture in a research dicot lab. This is a hands-on lab-based position that requires precision, efficiency, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
Perform general laboratory operations and routine information handling tasks.Execute tasks according to accepted methods and training provided by the work group.Support plant transformation and tissue culture processes.Utilize light and fluorescent microscopy techniques.Apply aseptic techniques and scientific principles and theories.Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.Troubleshoot and develop effective solutions when problems arise.Maintain organized records of work, project data, and other relevant information.Essential Skills
Experience with plant tissue culture and transformation methods, preferably in an industry setting.Proficiency in light and fluorescent microscopy.Knowledge of aseptic techniques.Strong understanding and application of scientific principles, theories, and concepts.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, or a related field.Work Environment
The role is based in a laboratory setting, requiring hands-on work with plant transformation and tissue culture. The position operates during the first shift, Monday to Friday, with hours starting around 7:30-8:00 AM.

This is a Contract position based out of Johnston, Iowa.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
