Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician with a passion for laboratory work. Previous lab experience, including academic settings, is advantageous. An ideal candidate would possess a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or Medical Laboratory Sciences, although current college students may be considered. This role involves working in a laboratory setting to prepare test solutions and set up experiments using various machines and analyzers.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare test solutions using water, plasma, or blood.Set up and conduct laboratory experiments using a range of equipment such as spectrophotometers, chemistry analyzers, benchtop pumps, and pH meters.Perform extractions and sample analyses.Properly document work and results in accordance with GDPs and SOPs.Handle exposure to human and/or bovine plasma, blood products, and other biohazardous reagents/materials.Essential SkillsPrevious laboratory experience (academic lab experience is acceptable).Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or Medical Laboratory Sciences (current students may also be considered).Basic understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with laboratory equipment such as spectrophotometers, chemistry analyzers, benchtop pumps, and pH meters.Preferred understanding of GDPs and SOPs.Work Environment
The position offers a structured work schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, during training. Post-training, the schedule shifts to 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with a 15% shift differential. The role involves working in a laboratory environment with exposure to biohazardous materials, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
