Job Description
As a Technician, you will play a critical role in the preparation and testing of samples. You will primarily focus on the areas of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and cytogenetics, contributing to the identification of DNA and RNA sequences.
ResponsibilitiesCulture, treat, and prepare samples for testing.Perform pipetting and other sample preparation tasks.Extract DNA and RNA to identify sequences.Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) meticulously.Assist the diagnostic team with preparatory work.Essential SkillsDegree in biological sciences, verified by transcripts.Experience in a laboratory environment, either during education or post-graduation.Proficiency in chemistry and biology.Ability to follow SOPs accurately.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in sample preparation for diagnostic purposes is preferred.Work Environment
You will work in a Molecular Pathology Lab located in the LL Building, which is known for being very clean and organized. The position requires availability for the first shift from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4 PM, with occasional weekend work as needed to address backlogs.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
