Laboratory Technician - Canister Inspection - VOC Media Air Lab

(Full-time)

As a Laboratory Technician, your responsibilities are:

 

Inspect Summa Canister and Compressed Breathing Gas Samples Ensure client and sample information is accurately entered into LIMS system Accurately record the pressure reading from the pressure gauge on each low and high pressure cylinder To receive flow controllers into the Cylinder Inventory program Sort and distribute samples in a timely manner to appropriate areas To be accountable for accuracy of results and data entry To communicate sample irregularities and damaged equipment to appropriate Project Management, Analysts and Supervisory staff as appropriate Participate in laboratory audits as required Participate in lab and health and safety meetings Proactively ensure overall satisfaction of client base including communication to project management / supervisor as appropriate. Adhere to Bureau Veritas’s safety policy, quality systems QA/QC, SOP’s and external accreditation requirements. Provide support to other related departments or areas as required, including acting as backup to the media entry team. Provide clear, concise and accurate information to operations as it pertains to client projects (including, but not limited to rush and ongoing projects). To keep their work area clean, neat and organized All other responsibilities as assigned

 

You are an ideal Laboratory Technician, if you have:

 

University degree or college diploma in Sciences, preferably chemistry or environmental related and/or equivalent experience. Experience in a laboratory environment an asset. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Energetic personality that can work independently in a multi-tasking fast paced environment. Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long hours. Good knowledge of computers (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
