San Antonio, TX, USA | Hourly | Part Time We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Part-Time Laboratory Technician to support our environmental laboratory operations. This role focuses on processing customer water samples to detect microbial pathogens, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to standard protocols. Key Responsibilities + Perform laboratory analyses on water samples using standardized operating procedures. + Accurately record observations and test data into the laboratory information system (LIMS). + Prepare concise reports summarizing findings and observations. + Assist with the preparation and handling of reagents and laboratory materials. + Maintain laboratory cleanliness and safety according to established procedures. + Monitor and document quality control and quality assurance activities. Preferred Qualifications + Minimum of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences from an accredited institution. + Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is preferred but not required. Key Competencies + Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic. + Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage tasks effectively. + Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. + Clear and effective verbal and written communication abilities. + Experience using Microsoft Office Excel and Outlook. Physical and Environmental Requirements + Ability to sit and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. + Capability to lift and/or move containers weighing 10–50 pounds. + Maintain focus and performance under pressure. + Work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting. + Distinguish colors visually and through a microscope. + Acclimate to varying noise levels and laboratory odors. + Work in a lab environment with exposure to hazardous chemicals and microbiological agents (appropriate PPE will be provided).
