Laboratory Shift Leader - 3rd Shift
Job Title: Shift Leader - 3rd Shift Job Description The Shift Leader will serve as a shift supervisor, reporting administratively to a Senior Shift Leader or Laboratory Manager. This role involves directing work by assigning responsibilities and tasks to staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources and authority to fulfill their duties. The Shift Leader will assist in the professional growth of team members through on-the-job training and skill development, provide timely feedback on performance, and participate in evaluating staff and identifying their needs. Writing or contributing to monthly and final reports, and communicating directly with clients to assess their needs and foster beneficial relationships, are also part of this role. Responsibilities + Direct work by assigning responsibilities and tasks to others. + Ensure staff have the resources and authority to accomplish assigned tasks. + Facilitate professional growth through training and skill development. + Provide timely feedback to staff on performance. + Participate in staff evaluations and identify their needs. + Write or contribute to monthly and final reports. + Communicate with clients to assess needs and develop relationships. + Be knowledgeable of all technical procedures and SOPs required for project tasks. + Perform technical-based tasks and laboratory analysis using established protocols and SOPs. + Review experimental data for completeness and accuracy according to standard procedures. + Ensure accurate computer (LIMS) entry and completeness. + Write or revise protocols and SOPs, and monitor staff compliance with SOPs and Quality Assurance requirements. + Provide or arrange technical training necessary for staff. + Take initiative and share decision-making and other responsibilities with others. + Interact collaboratively with team members to accomplish goals and resolve problems. Essential Skills + Protein purification + PCR + QPCR + GLP + SOP + CAPA + LIMS + Secret Clearance Needed + Experience in quality assurance activities including SOPs, risk assessments, and CAPAs + PCR/DNA Lab Experience + Experience with King Fisher Machine Additional Skills & Qualifications + M.S. in a specified study area plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience + Ability to work 3rd shift, Saturday-Wednesday, 11:00 pm-8:00 am + Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance Work Environment The work environment involves working 3rd shift, Saturday to Wednesday, from 11:00 pm to 8:00 am. Applicants selected will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, which requires U.S. citizenship. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $42.30 - $42.30/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
