Job Description
The Laboratory Operations Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the laboratory by managing the production demand for raw materials, packing materials, and finished goods. The technician coordinates with various departments such as purchasing and production to support manufacturing effectively and ensure compliance with cGMP and safety standards.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain the availability of required materials as per the production plan to ensure uninterrupted production and help achieve manufacturing OTIF.Schedule materials for purchase by aligning with the production plan and regularly following up for delivery.Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the planning & sourcing team for stock replenishment.Indent materials for new product launches by coordinating with production and ensuring timely delivery.Provide status updates on new product materials to tech transfer during new product meetings.Monitor store operations for compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards to ensure audit readiness.Ensure proper receipt, verification, segregation, storage, labelling, and accounting of packing materials.Monitor materials are stored under proper conditions with required segregation.Ensure all required materials are received as per SOP and accounted for properly.Monitor retest schedules and raise retest notes timely for packing materials.Prevent cross-contamination of materials during handling by strictly following procedures.Collate and prepare change controls, deviations, qualifications, and validation studies documents as per cGMP.Ensure real-time accurate data entries in the system and documents by reviewing during dispensing.Generate reports of the next inspection date of materials and raise GRs as per production demand.Prepare receipt, issuance/dispensing, and accounting of materials.Follow-up for clearance of rejected material with purchase for timely removal.Manage the disposal of non-moving or slow-moving items to control inventory costs.Review non-moving, low shelf life items periodically and ensure timely disposal.Coordinate with other locations, purchase, and planning for salvage of non-moving inventory.Ensure safety requirements are met by updating the team about revised guidelines.Monitor the use of safety appliances while handling materials.Identify potential hazards and ensure proper handling for storage, receipt, and issuance.Maintain sanitation and hygiene in the stores facility to ensure audit readiness.Ensure correct status labelling for materials, accessories, and equipment.Monitor activities related to new equipment like purchase, commissioning, and handover as per cGMP.Procure new equipment as per product and GMP requirements.Monitor installation of equipment and prepare qualification documents and SOPs.Prepare dispatch plans for finished formulations as per schedule to meet OTIF.Follow-up with QA for timely release and arrange vehicles for scheduled dispatch.Plan the distribution of materials as per customer requirements by coordinating with logistics, corporate, and export.Essential SkillsVendor managementGMPInventory controlMaterials managementSAP proficiencyGraduate or D. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing organization. The role is based in Long Island, NY, with the Fall River site serving as a primary location for product testing.
